Day 11 - Prayer

God's Holy Word, Jesus Christ our Lord

Prayer Resources:

“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Mathew 21:22

Faith in Jesus Christ is submission to His authority over all of your life, and it is also belief in His life, His death, His burial, His resurrection, and His authority over heaven and earth. It is knowing and showing that He has forgiven your sins, but by the grace of God. This submission to God’s ultimate authority in your life, has a transformative power in the way we think, speak, and act. May your life be blessed beyond belief with God’s unending power and grace, as you submit to His covenant and commandments.

The Lord’s Prayer:

“Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.

Matthew 6:9-13 & Luke 11:2-4

Prayer in the format of The Lord's Prayer, step-by-step:

1: Recognize God is In Charge

God, The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is in charge

The Triune God created everything that exists, sustains it in existence, and redeems us.

God is the only one worthy of our worship.

He loves us even though we do not deserve it.

We are called to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

2: Submit to God’s Will and Plan for Your Life

We want His Kingdom of truth, love, goodness, beauty, and relationship above anything else.

We want His calling, values, and purpose throughout our lives.

We want this for today and for all eternity, on earth now, as it is in heaven.

We will fear God and follow His commandments in a covenantal relationship under Christ’s headship and authority.

3: Express Gratitude & Express Your Needs

Thank God for providing for our physical needs for today.

Thank God for providing for our emotional needs for today.

Thank God for providing for our spiritual needs for today.

4: Confess Sin & Ask for Forgiveness

Thank God for His ultimate forgiveness.

Ask God to reveal how we have wronged our family, friends, and even our enemies.

Ask God for the strength and means to repair and restore where we can.

5: Release & Forgive Others

Holy Spirit give us strength and courage to forgive what others owe us, this may mean you need to forgive those that caused you harm.

Ask God to reveal what injustices you’re having a hard time letting go of.

Ask God to empower you to forgive those who have hurt you.

Forgive the sins of others, just as you have been forgiven of all of your sins by Jesus Christ.

6: Acknowledge Your Need for Help

Ask God to lead us into good habits, routines, behaviors, and environments that reflect His image into the world.

Ask God to protect us from bad habits, routines, behaviors, and environments that lead to sins, wrongful actions, and problematic encounters.
